Just a quick note to let you all know what I’ve been up to. I’m volunteering as the crafts director at a girls camp this week. So, for the past couple months, I’ve been preparing all the crafts and buying supplies for about 90 teenage girls to make cool stuff. I’ve kept the projects secret in case any of the girls read my blog…but now that they are soundly sleeping, I’ll fill you in. These are the projects I have planned: duct tape wallets, resin pendant necklaces, alphabet fleece pillows, yo yo headbands and pins, door name plates made from subway tiles, and paracord bracelets. I hope the girls have as much fun making them as I have. The picture above is our Craft Shack. Needs some work, I know, but I think it’ll be great. I’ll post lots of pictures and share all the crafts with you when I get back. Have a great week!

I’m volunteering at girl scout camp later this summer and I’ve been brainstorming the crafts we’ll be doing as well – can’t wait to see what you have planned!

Awesome! Craft time was always one of my favorite things about summer camp. Your ideas sound so much better than the typical lanyards and puffy-paint visors of my youth.

Hello fellow lover of all things crafty. I loved your craft ideas and hoped you might be able to help me out. Every Dec our church does a Christmas gift faire where people of all ages come & make gifts to give to whom ever they choose. Everything is provided completely free. The only limiting factor is time – how many gifts can one make in 4 hours and how many people volunteer to man the gift stations. Naturally we attempt to keep the cost of the gifts as low as possible – gathering recyclable items & or donated items. Can you share any ideas for inexpensive gifts that you may have come across in your searches for the perfect camp crafts? I would greatly appreciate it. Tracie

Tracie – You’re in luck. A few years ago, I compiled a huge list of inexpensive gifts to make. I’ll dig it up and post it on Craftynest soon. Thanks for the idea!
