Hi everyone! Bet you thought I fell into a hole somewhere. Nah, just job hunting now that I’m done with school. Anyone want to hire me? :) Anyway, I attended the San Francisco International Gift Fair last Saturday, and I ran across these flower-covered paper lanterns at the zappobz booth. I begged to take a picture so you can see them. I still like mine best, but I thought the bright colors were fun too. By the way, my favorite booth at the fair was roost. Love, love, love their stuff.

I like yours best, too!! I did my apartment in homemade cherry blossoms and have been dying for a lamp from Ikea that only slightly looked “blossomy.” Your lanterns are much prettier and at least $25 cheaper!! I’m going to try it, but since I want a specific flower, I’m going to cut my flowers from vellum myself and use beads instead of pompoms (since I already have some and am an unemployed grad school student). Thanks so much for an awesome idea!! :-)

Thanks so much for posting your flower lantern. I made my own for my bedroom. I went to Michael’s & they still carried the same clearance garland.

Wow, these are nice and colourful! I think these would be great for a party whereas the ones you made would be great for parties or just to have gorgeous decor in one’s home – they are more versatile.

These aren’t bad but yours are better.
If it’s OK, I’m going to link to your project for a roundup on silk flower ideas.
Thanks for the inspiration!

It’s a great thing to have used flowers and put them into such beautiful masterpieces. They’re the most illuminating lanterns I’ve seen.
